April 20, 2021
The special meeting of the Stanley County Board of Equalization was called to order at 5:00 P.M. (CT) by Chairman Dana Iversen, with Commissioners Dennis Booth, Mike Kenzy, Craig Heller and Sonny Harrowa present. Also present were State’s Attorney Tom P. Maher, Director of Equalization Roger Fuller, Treasurer Peggy Dougherty, and Auditor Philena Burtch. The meeting commenced with the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance.
AGENDA: Motion by Sonny Harrowa, second by Mike Kenzy, to approve the Agenda. All voted Aye. Motion Carried.
Record #7985: Applicant Withdrew Appeal.
Record #9102: No change.
Record #9103: Motion by Craig Heller, second by Dennis Booth, to approve reduction of value from $43,209 to $10,000 for Rec #9103. All voted Aye. Motion Carried.
Record #225: Motion by Dennis Booth, second by Sonny Harrowa, to approve to remove NA-A1 value of $16,624 and lower AG-A1 value from $22,200 to $9,216 for Rec #225, as structure has been removed. All voted Aye. Motion Carried.
Record #1203: Motion by Sonny Harrowa, second by Craig Heller, to approve remove AG-A1 value of $1,412 for Rec #1203, as structure has been removed. All voted Aye. Motion Carried.

Record #9172: Motion by Dennis Booth, second by Craig Heller, to approve 100% Tax Exemption and remove NA-DC2 value of $160,194 and NA-DC value of $28,664 for Rec #9172. All voted Aye. Motion Carried.
Disabled Veterans Property Tax Exemption: Motion by Craig Heller, second by Sonny Harrowa, to approve the list of 11 residents who qualify for the Disabled Veterans Property Tax Exemption. All voted Aye. Motion Carried.
Elderly/Disabled Assessment Freeze: Motion by Craig Heller, second by Dennis Booth, to approve the list of 11 residents, 12 parcels, who qualify for the Elderly/Disabled Assessment Freeze. All voted Aye. Motion Carried.
Tax Exempt: Motion by Mike Kenzy, second by Craig Heller, to approve the list of Tax Exempt properties: Casey Tibbs Foundation; The Chapter of Calvary Cathedral; St. John’s Catholic Church of Fort Pierre; Fort Pierre Congregational United Church of Christ; Fort Pierre Volunteer Firefighter’s Association, Inc.; Grace Lutheran Church of Hayes, SD; Hayes Community Hall; Hayes Four Corners Volunteer Fire Department; Kirley Hall, Inc.; Masonic Cemetery; Mission Ridge Cemetery Association; Moose Lodge #1813 of Stanley County; Little Brown Church on the Prairie; Wakpa Sica Historical Society; and West River/Lyman-Jones Rural Water Systems, Inc. All voted Aye. Motion Carried.
These assessments are for 2021 taxes payable in 2022.

Meeting of the Stanley County Commissioners was called to order by Chairman Iversen at 5:10 P.M.
Auditor Burtch informed the Commission that South Dakota Department of Health has a clerical vacancy and would like Stanley County Health Nurse Administrative Assistant, Bonnie Nickels, to work in the Fort Thompson Clinic on Tuesday’s and Thursdays until the position is filled.
Executive Session – Personnel – SDCL 1-25-2(1): Motion by Sonny Harrowa, second by Craig Heller, to go into Executive Session-Personnel-SDCL 1-25-2(1) at 5:12 P.M. All voted Aye. Motion Carried.
Chairman Iversen declared to reconvene at 6:38 P.M.
