STANLEY COUNTY BOARD OF EQUALIZATION

MINUTES

April 11, 2017

 

The special meeting of the Stanley County Board of Equalization was called to order at 5:03 p.m. (CDT) by Chairman Dana Iversen, with Commissioners Scott Deal, Craig Heller and Sonny Harrowa present. Commissioner Dennis Booth was absent. Also present were Director of Equalization Roger Fuller and Auditor Philena Edwards. The meeting commenced with the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

AGENDA:  Motion by Craig Heller, second by Sonny Harrowa, to approve the Agenda.  All voted Aye.  Motion Carried.

 

Record #9241: Motion by Sonny Harrowa, second by Craig Heller, to approve Rec #9241 appeal to reduce the assessment value from $13,608.00 to $250.00, as this mobile home is uninhabitable. All voted Aye. Motion Carried.

 

Record #7090: Motion by Scott Deal, second by Craig Heller, to remove Rec #7090, assessment value of $500.00, as these two mobile homes have been demolished. All voted Aye. Motion Carried.

 

Record #9027: Motion by Sonny Harrowa, second by Scott Deal, to remove Rec #9027, assessment value of $7,190.00, as this mobile home has been demolished. All voted Aye. Motion Carried.

 

Record #4439: Motion by Craig Heller, second by Scott Deal, to approve Rec #4439 appeal to reduce AG-A building assessment value of $2,472.00 and NA-1 assessment value of $6,691.00 to $0.00, as 5 grain bins, Quonset and old house have been demolished. All voted Aye. Motion Carried.

 

Elderly/Disabled Assessment Freeze: Motion by Sonny Harrowa, second by Scott Deal, to approve the list of 12 residents who qualify for the Elderly/Disabled Assessment Freeze. All voted Aye. Motion Carried.

 

Disabled Veterans Property Tax Exemption: Motion by Craig Heller, second by Sonny Harrowa, to approve the list of 4 residents who qualify for the Disabled Veterans Property Tax Exemption. All voted Aye. Motion Carried.

 

Tax Exempt: Motion by Sonny Harrowa, second by Scott Deal, to approve the list of Tax Exempt properties, such as churches, the fire departments, Casey Tibbs Foundation, Hayes Community Hall, Kirley Hall, Masonic Cemetery, Mission Ridge Cemetery, Moose Lodge #1813, Stanley County Post 20 American Legion, Wakpa Sica Historical Society and West River/Lyman-Jones Rural Water Systems. All voted Aye. Motion Carried.

 

These assessments are for 2017 taxes payable 2018.

 

Adjourn: Motion by Craig Heller, second by Scott Deal, to adjourn at 5:38 pm (CDT). All voted Aye. Motion Carried.
